ROMFIL CROSSFLOW MEMBRANE FILTRATION
ROMFIL offers to the wine industry an engineered product based on the proven technology of crossflow filtration. The ROMFIL Winefilter operates with minimal supervision without the need to use or dispose of DE and / or filter sheets. Capacities range from 1,000 10,000 litres/day.
The heart of the Romfil Wine Filter, is the Symmetric, micro-porous, polypropylene, hollow fibre, Membrane Cartridge, which can be regenerated by back flushing. This is carried out by stopping the feed pump and connecting CO2 or N2 to the filtrate discharge manifold, to reverse the flow. A simple, hygienic procedure to maintain maximum efficiency of the crossflow filter process.
The process is particularly gentle to the wine, insuring that the highest quality and colour intensity is preserved. Wines often difficult to filter, such as Botrytis infected wines, or those containg filtration aids, are easily clarified using the Romfil. The evolution of the Membrane Cartridge, allows for a compact system design, with optimisation in cost. The modular design, enables a progressive increase in capacity, with the addition of extra Membrane Cartridges.
