CHEMPLANT WINERY AGITATORS
Our range of High Efficiency, Side-Entry Agitators, has been used extensively in the Wine industry, to reduce power consumption and maximise reliability.

Side-Entry Agitators are a flexible and cost effective method of agitating larger tanks. They include a number of features which ensure they are easy to maintain on site, while being available in a wide range of configurations.

The RTF4 Hydrofoil impellor, was hydrodynamically developed to reduce power consumption, by maximising flow and minimising turbulence, or shear. The RTF4 Hydrofoil, transfers the available energy into pure axial flow, without turbulence at the impellor.

POWER SAVINGS and INCREASED EFFICIENCIES.

Mechanical Agitation of a wine vessel, whether during Fermentation, Cold Stabilisation, Blending, or just Storage, assists in providing improved wine quality in the most efficient manner.

Mechanical Agitation of a wine vessel introduces process efficiencies due to improved circulation of wine within the vessel. This improved circulation results in more even temperature profiles throughout the vessel resulting in a more consistent product quality.

Refrigeration requirements during cold stabilisation are reduced because of enhanced circulation. Heat transfer rates are increased, resulting in quicker and more effective completion.

This reduction in refrigeration requirement relates directly to power cost savings within the winemaking process. The savings achieved through refrigeration efficiency clearly outweighs the cost of installing a mechanical agitator in a wine tank.
Payback periods of 3-6 months have been achieved, depending on tank size and utilisation.
Some of the best results have been obtained when a tank is retrofitted with agitation. Existing tanks can be made to perform more efficiently when retrofitted, thus effectively increasing their capacity.

DIRECT SPEED AGITATORS.

Direct Speed Agitators are the low cost option, but require more power. They are available with straight and angled pedestal.

GEAR REDUCED AGITATORS.

Gear Reduced Agitators require less power, have a lower load on the tank and a longer seal life, due to the lower shaft speed. They are available with straight or angled pedestal.

Gear Reduced Agitator with retract mechanism. The seal can be removed as an assembly from a full tank and replaced by an identical assembly, without disturbing the agitator drive, or vessel internals.
